RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A shelter in Racine County is trying to help a dog with a very unusual problem.
Woof Gang Rescue has set up a YouCaring fundraiser page for "Bishop" who came to them from Chicago.
Bishop was surrendered by the family he lived with for seven years because his owner's girlfriend was allergic.
After a medical examination, it was thought that Bishop had stones in his bladder.
According to the rescue organization, further examination showed that the stones were actually lodged in his penis and they determined that Bishop needed what amounts to a "sex change" operation or he'd have to be put down.
According to Woof Gang Rescue, the procedure was completed and Bishop who is now "Bishy" is doing well.
Another surgery will be needed in a few days to remove the extra bladder stones.
If you'd like to donate to Bishy and hear more about her journey, click here.
