Woman Arrested for Smoking Marijuana in Chicago Police Station's Parking Lot
CHICAGO (CBS CHICAGO) — It might have been the easiest drug arrest ever; a Chicago woman was caught smoking pot right outside a west suburban police station on Monday.
Elizabeth Klebba, 21, and a friend had driven to a Chicago police station on Monday morning to pick up an impounded car for another friend who had been arrested for DUI two days before.
Klebba stayed behind in the car parked in a spot designated for police vehicles only, and smoked marijuana while her friend went inside, police said.
Police said Klebba had less than 10 grams of marijuana, and received citations for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and improper parking. All violations carry only a fine.
Weitzel said if Klebba had been driving while smoking pot, she could have been arrested for driving under the influence.
