MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Over in our state's Capitol, Wisconsin's Legislative Black Caucus held its Black History Month kickoff.
Members gathered in the Capitol building's rotunda to celebrate all African Americans have contributed to the state and the country and all that African Americans will continue to contribute to the state and the country.
"American history is Black history. We should be valued, taught, we should be reflected accurately," said State Senator Lena Taylor.
Wisconsin's Legislative Black Caucus will host more than 10 events this month that focus on education, health, environmental justice and business in Wisconsin's Black community.
