Wisconsin State Fair announces 2015 mobile app

Wisconsin State Fair officials are excited to announce the Official 2015 Wisconsin State Fair mobile app for the second consecutive year. The app is FREE and available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store for mobile devices with iOS and Android operating systems. The Wisconsin State Fair app was created to help Fairgoers stay updated on entertainment, food, directions, events and more during the 2015 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U.S. Cellular®, Thursday, Aug. 6– Sunday, Aug. 16.

“We’re very excited to once again offer our fairgoers another way to stay connected with us during their visit to the Wisconsin State Fair,” said Kathleen O’Leary, Director of Marketing & Communications. “The Official Wisconsin State Fair app will be a wonderful, useful tool for fairgoers to learn about all of the amazing activities, foods, promotions and entertainment at State Fair.”

Fair guests can access the mobile app on their smart phones or other mobile devices and receive updates during their visit through several designated “Cow-Fi” Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the Fair Park. Cow-Fi is FREE to Fairgoers and will be available throughout the Exposition Center, Wisconsin Products Pavilion, Central Park, the Guest Services Pavilion presented by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and, NEW this year, the Case IH Coliseum. Users who downloaded the app in 2014 are encouraged to update their current Wisconsin State Fair app. Fairgoers can also sign up for text alerts powered by U.S. Cellular to receive Fair updates directly to their phones by texting “WIFAIR” to 27765 to opt in.

The Official 2015 Wisconsin State Fair mobile app allows Fairgoers to create a fully personalized schedule for their visit to the Fair and includes a database of the nearly 2,000 events, contests, entertainment and agriculture shows that take place throughout the 11 days.

The app also allows users to search for their favorite food items, learn about admission promotions and other deals at the fair, and find tickets for shows at the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Visitors can view maps of the Fair Park, including separate maps features the barns in Ag Village and locations of The Sporkies food competition winners. In addition, users can utilize several ways to stay connected and “stick with us” via social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest.
