Wisconsin Man Missing After Serious Accident; Sheriff's Deputies Using Drones to Search Cornfields

A man that was in a serious accident on Sunday is missing and Dane County Sheriff’s Office is searching for him.

Dane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help as they search for 30-year-old William L. Hunt of DeForest.

According to Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Hunt was involved in a rollover crash on Sunday night just before 11:00 on Highway K in the town of Springfield.

He fled the scene on foot, and despite an extensive search that night, he was not located.

The rural area on CTH K near Vosen Road consists primarily of cornfields full of mature corn, making the search difficult.

Utility vehicles, K9’s and UAV’s drones, are all being utilized in the investigation.

Evidence inside the 1998 Nissan Pathfinder he was driving suggests that William was injured, and his cell phone was found at the scene.

If anyone has seen or heard from William, we ask that they call the non-emergency line at the Dane County Communications Center at 608-266-4948.

For residents of this area, we ask that you check your property thoroughly for any evidence of his presence.
