Wisconsin DHS confirms second measles case in Dane County

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and Public Health Madison Dane County are investigating a case of measles confirmed in an out-of-state traveler who stayed in a Madison hotel.

The investigation identified the exposure location as the Holiday Inn Express, off of High Crossing Blvd. in Madison.

Officials say individuals who were at the hotel on Fri. Feb. 6, from 12:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. may have been exposed to the measles virus. 

This current case is not linked to current confirmed cases in Waukesha County and Dane County

The news also comes one week after another case from an out-of-state traveler was confirmed having gone through Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport to Walworth County.

DHS officials say they are working to identify and notify people who may have been exposed. 

Due to privacy concerns, no additional personal identifying or health information will be released by DHS.
