St. Francis (CBS 58)--Mother Nature made herself known shortly after dinner Wednesday evening in St. Francis. This is when 50 to 60 mph winds roared through this community during thunderstorms. One meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Sullivan mentioned how the saturated ground helped contribute to all the downed trees. Close to a dozen of them actually fell on the property of "Mary Mother of The Church Pastoral Center." There was also some minor roof damage and a little flooding. One Archdiocese spokesperson says they plan on repairing, rebuilding, and replanting sooner than later.
If you happen to have some large trees on your property, arborists recommend getting a deep root treatment to help preserve and even protect them in the long run.
