When You Can Expect the Presidential Race to be Called

In some years it has taken days and even weeks for a winner of the presidential election and in other years it's only taken hours.
In seven of the past ten presidential elections the race has been called by the Associated Press before 11:00 PM central time.
In 2012 President Obama was named the projected winner at 10:48 PM.
