West Bend Bank Robbery Suspect Slits Throat After Police Pursuit

The City of West Bend Police Department is investigating after a male entered the Westbury Bank on Washington Street in the City of West Bend and demanded money. The suspect handed a note over to an employee, obtained an undetermined amount, and fled. A witness called police after observing the suspect fleeing east on W. Washington Street. West Bend Police Officers responded and attempted to stop the subject.

After a brief vehicle pursuit, the suspect stopped his truck in the Fleet Farm parking Lot. Officers ordered the suspect out of the truck. The suspect exited the vehicle holding a knife to his neck. Officers attempted to get the suspect to drop the knife. After a brief period, the suspect cut his neck before the officers could disarm him.

The suspect has been taken to Froedtert Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. He is also being held on a charge of Robbery and a Felony Warrant with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department for Possession of Drugs.
