WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A high-speed pursuit involving West Allis police ended with two officers and two people hurt.
The pursuit began late Sunday night, Aug. 25, after police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, entering on I-894 southbound at West Greenfield Avenue, and exiting at Lincoln.
The driver reportedly lost control attempted to travel east on Lincoln when they crashed through fencing, rolled over and ended up back in the southbound lanes.
The driver, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, and their passenger, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man, were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver was arrested for OWI causing injury, flee/elude police, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of THC. The passenger was charged with THC.
One officer was injured while attempting to get to the crashed vehicle on foot and the other officer was injured assisting the first officer.
