West Allis Police arrest Milwaukee man after chase early Sunday

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Early Sunday morning around 2:30 West Allis Police tried to stop a car with heavily tinted windows for a traffic violation near 62nd and National. The car did not stop and the officer chased it.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed but the car kept slowly going. Near 46th and Center the car tried to turn but instead slid onto the curb and hit a street sign. The driver fled on foot but was taken after a short foot chase. He fought with officers while he was being detained.

The driver was identified as a 36-year-old man from Milwaukee who was arrested for OWI, fleeing and possession of a gun.
