MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A West Allis man accused in a crash that killed a 29-year-old man appeared in court on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Barry Phillips had powerful words to say about the charges against 21-year-old Drake Wallis.

"The unfortunate and inescapable reality, whether we call it accident or not, is what you were doing in the car in the first place," Phillips said. "This would have never, and I hesitate to use the word never, but this would have never happened if you wasn't driving in the first place and you weren't supposed to be."

Wallis' bond was set at $30,000. He's due back in court next week.
