MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man is back on his feet Tuesday night, and hoping to start feeling better soon, after being hit by a truck on his bike while riding home from work.
Richard Love, well-known for his dancing and street preaching at Teutonia and Locust, spent several days in the hospital with a tube in his chest after being hit.
Now he's out of the hospital. He says he thinks it could've been avoided.
His mom says she just wishes people would drive more safely across the city. Both are thanking God Richard is okay.
"I thought hey, this is my life. I thought I was really gone, you know I thought I was dead by the way he hit me, the impact," Love said.
"People out here driving, there's so many people that don't care," said Daphne Gibson, Love's mother. "Lot of people out here don't even have a reason to have a driver's license, you know, and people need to take heed. You have kids, a mother, a father, a sister, brother -- picture them getting hit."
Milwaukee police say they are investigating the incident, but did say he had disregarded a red light.
