The continent of Antarctica has experienced it's warmest temperature ever recorded. On Thursday, February 6, the temperature reached 64.9° at the Esperanza base which is on the northern tip of the continent. Before Thursday's record temperature the previous warm temperature was 63.5° set back on March 24, 2015.
Since Antarctica is in the southern hemisphere it is summer there but the record temp was still about 30° to 35° warmer than their average February temperatures.
