Waukesha Sheriff's Detective arrested following domestic disbute

Waukesha County - Detective Peter Korns was arrested for what police call a domestic related disorderly conduct incident. Korns is a 26 year veteran at the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department. The Waukesha Sheriff's Department has not released many details on the incident that led to Detective Korns arrest by the City of Waukesha Police Department. One neighbor told CBS 58 off camera, they saw police officers at Korns' home the night before on Jacobs Court.

According to Korn's disciplinary report, this isn't the first time the Detective has been investigated. After an internal investigation, Detective Korns had been suspended for three days for not properly storing evidence. Also mentioned in the documents, Korns had been investigated for sleeping on the job and responding to his wife's burglary. The report states Detective Korns responded to a call in 2012 to find his wife in the house.

Records show the detective's lock picking kit had been found in his wife's car. Detective Korns stated he knew nothing about it, and cell phone records don't show any calls to his wife before the burglary. Detective Korns has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both investigations by the Waukesha Police and Sheriff's Departments.
