Washington County Inmate Taken to Hospital

An inmate was taken to the hospital for sticking a candy bar up his rectum in Washington County.

The Sheriff’s Office transported a 25-year-old straight time inmate to a local medical facility on Saturday at 2:53 p.m. after he contacted a correctional officer stating he had inserted a candy bar into his rectum and could not get it out.

The subject was evaluated by medical staff as well as mental health professionals after he told staff members he did it in an effort to kill himself.

After medical clearance he was brought back to jail under a rigid safety plan.

The assigned deputies did not clear from the call until 7:16 p.m. that evening.
