Vos calls for action as coronavirus cases surge in Wisconsin

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- In a surprising about-face, Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is now calling for action as coronavirus surges.

Vos said "What we're doing now as a state isn't working. Not only do we need people to follow CDC guidelines, we need to increase testing."

Vos also said he's open to a second coronavirus relief bill if Congress fails to provide additional funding to the state.

Republican lawmakers have fought Governor Tony Evers' response to the pandemic every step of the way.

They sued to overturn the stay-at-home order.

They're also working to end the face mask mandate.
