Village of Shorewood ends mask mandate

SHOREWOOD, Wis. (CBS 58) --- The Village of Shorewood's Board decided to end the face covering ordinance on Monday, May 17.

Officials say the decision was based on the new guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention that says fully vaccinated people don't need to be masked in a majority of indoors and outdoors locations.

The Village Board still encourages community members and visitors to follow CDC recommendations and guidelines.

Face coverings are still required to be worn by all visitors over the age of four while visiting the Shorewood Public Library per Library Board policy.
