A warm but slightly dry June comes to an end as we look ahead...
Milwaukee Municipal Court convened for an unusual session today.
It was at a church on 82nd and Silver Spring.
The gathering was to help people who might have outstanding warrants get them cleared.
This was not an amnesty program, just a little help to get those people out from under the shadow of those penalties.
"One of the things we're concerned about is making sure that people are compliant with the law and getting warrants lifted is one way to do that. And then also getting drivers licenses back is another way to do that. But we also understand that employment is a challenge for some folk, so we thought we'd bring some employers here to give them an opportunity to speak with them," said Judge Valarie Hill.
The long term goal is to help Milwaukee have a safe summer. More than 250 people registered for today's event.
