MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A ceremony was held at the Wisconsin Air National Guard base at Mitchell International Airport Tuesday, recognizing some one-of-a-kind aircraft tail art.
The 128th Air Fueling Wing started work on the design just over a year ago.
It features a blue and yellow "Brew City" color scheme and centers on a flying beer stein. The jet's design showcases the rich history and community ties of the 128th.
"I think it will be a nice piece of heritage for the wing to have something that they are proud of that's a little bit unique, different from the other airplanes," said Col. Charles Merkel. "And I think people are going to look forward to flying it."
This KC-135R Stratotanker jet acts as an aerial refueling service -- a gas station in the sky, assisting other fighter planes in their travels overseas.
