MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In wake of recent gun violence, members of Milwaukee's senior community gathered Tuesday to have their voices heard.
A Seniors Against Gun Violence rally was held near the Clinton Rose Senior Center.
Around 20 participants rallied, holding up signs encouraging younger generations to put the guns down.
"I hope everybody starts thinking, let me talk to my young people, let me talk to my young children...grandchildren...let them know this is not the way to go," said Charlotte Lewis. "We have to be the ones to say, look young man, put the gun down. That is not the way you want to go."
This rally is just one of many recent community events that have called for peace in what has been a violent start to the summer in Milwaukee.
