Undefeated Packers Take on Undefeated Broncos

For just the fourth time in NFL history, two 6-0 teams will match up as the Green Bay Packers travel to Denver for a prime time showdown with the Broncos Sunday.

The two teams are similar in many ways. Both teams are coming off a bye week and feeling refreshed. Both offenses, normally high powered, have underperformed, as the Packers have dealt with injuries and the Broncos have been held back in part by Peyton Manning’s struggles. Both defenses have become surprising stories in this NFL season, as the two teams rank first and second in the league in sacks.

The Packers might be without the services of Ty Montgomery, whose ankle injury led to a downgrade to “questionable” Saturday. Rookie defensive back Damarious Randall and defensive lineman B.J. Raji were both upgraded to “probable” Saturday, giving the Packers two extra bodies for this battle.

Aaron Rodgers has been 6-0 at one other point in his NFL career – in 2011, when the Packers finished 15-1 but failed to win a playoff game. Rodgers overcame an historically bad defense that year, but has benefited from the defense’s improved play in 2015.

The Packers and Broncos are two of just five undefeated teams in the NFL so far this season. The Patriots, Bengals and Panthers are the other three teams with unblemished records. Green Bay travels to Carolina to face the Panthers next Sunday.
