Traffic Stop Gone Wrong Backs Up Traffic on I-43

Traffic was backed up on I-43 North near Silver Spring near Glendale Saturday night for a traffic stop gone wrong.

According to Glendale Police around 7:10 PM an officer stopped a car for a traffic violation. When the officer ran the car's license plate he discovered that the owner of the car was a wanted felon with an extensive criminal history. Once the officer got out of their squad to approach the car the driver took off.

The officer gave chase before the wanted vehicle hit another car on I-43 north near Nicolet High School. The wanted man then got out of the car, jumped a fence along the freeway and ran into Glendale's Clovernook sub division.

Glendale police officers quickly responded and set up a tight perimeter. K9 officers were brought in and the 22-year-old wanted Milwaukee man was shortly arrested a little after 8:00 PM.
