Therapy Pig Dressed as Santa Greets Holiday Travelers at Airport

Therapy dogs are not that unusual to see at the airport, especially around Christmas time with so many travelers.

But how about a therapy pig? And one dressed as Santa?

That's the sight greeting folks at Albany International Airport in New York.

His name is Bacon Bits.

"The purpose is to relax people and calm them," explained airport spokesperson Helen Chadderdon. "Bacon Bits is a perfect match for the public. He loves people. He wags his tail. He's friendly."

Bacon Bits was volunteered by a woman who had been helped through illness by the pig.

He's not just greeting airline travelers.

Bacon Bits visits an average of 65 senior centers and facilities each year.
