The Packers Are Likely Going to be Missing Five Key Defenders Against the Lions

CBS SPORTS - The Lions and Packers meet on Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field, and both teams are looking to bounce back from tough Week 2 losses. And Green Bay's chances against a division rival just got more difficult.

The team announced Saturday that two starters have been ruled out: linebacker Clay Matthews and safety Morgan Burnett. Matthews is dealing with an ankle and hamstring issues and Burnett has a groin injury. They join cornerback Sam Shields, who is dealing with a concussion, on the sidelines.

There's more: Defensive tackle Letroy Guion (knee) and pass rusher Datone Jones(knee) have been downgraded to doubtful.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers struggled in the Week 2 loss to the Sam Bradford-led (!) Vikings, though he remains unconcerned about the sluggish start.

"We're not going back and, you know, worried and having sleepless nights worried about what you guys are saying about our offense," Rodgers said this week. "Because you don't know what plays we're running, you don't know where the execution is, you don't know where the flaws in the execution lie. You're looking at whatever you guys are looking at to break down the performances. I don't know if you guys are doing the Pro Football Focus type stuff or whatnot -- even that stuff we're not worried about those opinions."
