On Friday, June 9 at 1:04 AM, the Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to a domestic trouble incident at a house in the W21700 block of Virginia Lane. Initial calls said that a 43-year-old drunk Menomonee Falls man had allegedly armed himself with a gun and threatened to harm his spouse and himself.

Police believed the man was inside the house. The Waukesha County Sheriff Department Tactical Enforcement Unit assisted with a search of the home where a child was found safe

At 6:17 AM, while still on the scene, officers responded to a report of a man down in the W21600 block of Taylor’s Woods Drive. The man down was determined to be the same person officers had been attempting to locate. The man was dead.

This incident remains under investigation by police and the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police say the public was never in danger, but a reverse 911 notification was made to homes adjacent to the residence to make them aware of the police presence.
