On Tuesday, June 13 at 11:23 PM, Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department squads were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in Sussex. While responding to the call, a deputy saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspect who had fled from the residence of the domestic disturbance.
When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the Ford Explorer accelerated on Butternut Lane east of Clover Drive. The car continued to flee east on Butternut Lane reaching speeds of 60 MPH.
The car ultimately lost control at the intersection of Butternut Lane and Pine Terrace in Sussex when it left the road and crashed into two parked vehicles in a driveway on Pine Terrace. The driver was taken into custody immediately after the crash.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department arrested the 23-year-old Sussex man for Eluding and Operating while Intoxicated. The man was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and later booked into the Waukesha County Jail.
