BAYSIDE, Wis. (CBS 58 ) -- Police in the Village of Bayside are looking for two juveniles in connection with attempted vehicle thefts early Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Bayside police say they received a call around 5:30 a.m., about two juveniles approaching vehicles trying to steal them or items inside.
A neighbor caught the two male juveniles and scared them off.
Police shared photos of the vehicles the suspects drove away in. Police believe they are a red Jeep Liberty and dark-colored Chevy Cobalt.
Police say it may seem obvious but there are ways you can protect yourself that some people aren't doing.
"Take your valuables inside. Don’t leave your cars unlocked. Certainly, don’t leave your residence unlocked. These are basically crimes of opportunity these individuals are pouncing on and we are really trying to educate people to say yes it’s a nice neighborhood, but you’re not immune from crime,” Village of Bayside Lt. Paul Picciolo said.
Bayside police are asking for security footage, Ring Doorbell video, or any information if you have it to help find the suspects.
