Did you know that Milwaukee's police department boasts the oldest police band in the nation?
Founded in 1898, the tradition dates back to the earliest days of the city and is as storied as it is long.
The current leader, Lieutenant Karen Dubis (ret.) recently sat down with Mike Strehlow for a conversation on the band's importance to the community, as well as its connection to the legendary American band leader John Philip Sousa.
