Dropping temps and a shower chance for Brewers Opening Day
EAST TROY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- East Troy is hosting a special summer camp put on by the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin this week.
It's the 25th annual summer camp for burn-injured youth. The event is free at Camp Timberlee, and connects young burn victims together. Organizers say its main purpose is to get kids to see beyond their injuries and to make new friends.
"I think it's just a good way to give back and to let the kids know that we as a society, we as firefighters, we as volunteers, do see them, do care about them, that they interact in a very positive atmosphere," said Burn Camp counselor Doug Johnson.
Kids were treated to a zip line, archery and horseback riding on Tuesday. The camp is generously funded through donations.
