Strong Baby campaign starts with community breakfast

 

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Babies are the most precious lives in our homes and there's a push in Milwaukee to make sure they grow up. The Strong Baby campaign is focused on preventing infant deaths citywide.

Wednesday health and faith leaders joined together to promote and celebrate strong baby sanctuary locations where pregnant women and new families can go for help. More than 30 churches participate.

"It's very important of course, to have access to physicians, nurses, but there are other factors at play here and that's why I feel so strongly that the churches play a big role,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.

Strong Baby Sabbath will be held this Sunday.
