Staying safe while sledding

Sledding is a favorite activity, but it can be dangerous. This weekend a woman was injured at Washington Park in Kenosha while sledding. Flight for Life took her to Froedert Hospital where she was treated.

Superintendent of Kenosha Parks Jeff Warnock says the snow can cover dangerous obstacles.

\"You have to remember that you have electric stands, and boxes that they use, that could be covered up,\" said Warnock.

Washington park, where the accident happened does have signs warning sledders.

\"You have to remember, people are going to go where they want to go. If it looks steep and more exciting, they are going to go there,\" said Warnock.

Warnock said to check out the hill before sledding.

\"I suggest walking the path first, so you know which way to send your child or even you,\" said Warnock.
