Sen. Chris Taylor and Rep. Jon Erpenbach, both democrats, are circulating a bill to gain support across party lines to legalize medical marijuana.
The deadline is 5 p.m. Jan. 26. In the email, they say the bill would not only provide relief for the sickest patients, but needed state revenue.
"It's just one of those issues that makes sense not only for the people in the state that may be suffering with cancer, crohn's disease or some kind of seizure disorder, but we could hopefully raise some revenue that we could put back into education or roads or whatever we need it for," said Rep. Christine Sinicki, D-Milwaukee.
So far, 28 states have legalized medical marijuana.
