MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- These sisters have been serving up a warm meal for 70 years in Milwaukee!
Saint Joan Antida High School's "Spaghetti with the Sisters" is a beloved fall tradition that began in 1955.
The Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida started the event, to support the new school they founded.
Seven decades later, the fundraiser continues to support the school's admission.
The Archbishop of Milwaukee, Jeffrey Grob, says the school has been playing a big part in helping young girls in the community.
"Even if it just changes one life it's served its purpose," said Archbishop Grob. "But year after year after year you're helping give opportunities to new beginnings and future possibilities of careers. Obviously, it served well, it's here after all these years."
The Archbishop of Milwaukee said he felt like he was at Culver's, because of how many came out today!
To get a sense of how big it was - more than 3,000 meatballs were prepared!
