Some places stay open despite cold temps

MILWAUKEE- There were a number of places open on Monday in the Milwaukee despite the bitterly cold weather.


The Milwaukee Public Market opened as usual for their customers.


They also offered $1 hot chocolate with all proceeds going to the homeless veterans fund.


The Milwaukee School of Engineering was one of the few schools open in the area.


CBS 58 spoke with one student that walked to class Monday morning.


The Milwaukee Public Library also remained open on Monday during the extreme cold weather. They will also be open on Tuesday.


MPL decided to open late and close early for safety.


All 13 locations will have a modified schedule and will be open from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. 



Library hours are subject to change based on the extremity of weather conditions.


Metro Mart closed early on Monday at 8 p.m.
