MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Some voters on Milwaukee's south side were left frustrated after a voting machine briefly broke down Tuesday, Nov. 8.
It happened at the Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School polling place.
The machine went down around 3 p.m. and was repaired about three hours later.
During the downtime, voters were asked to either leave their ballots in a locked box or stay until the issue was resolved.
Asked about the impact on voters, an election official had this to say:
"Your vote will be counted today," said Jonathan Zuniga, election operations and training manager. "Everyone who voted today, their ballots are here. They will be counted and anything they want to search after the election, whether it's the ballots, the notebooks, Election Day registrations, they're all open to open records requests."
We're told elections officials will investigate the issue further after all the votes are counted.
