Social Development Commission Milwaukee temporarily closes its doors to stop the spread of COVID-19

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Social Development Commission Milwaukee (SDC) has temporarily closed its doors until Monday, Jan. 3, 2022,  in an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19. 

The organization announced its closure on Monday, Dec. 27. 

SDC provides resources to people facing poverty in Milwaukee. 

For essential services Milwaukee County residents should contact the followings:  

Nutrition Services: 414-963-2684

Weatherization: 414-906-2727

Emergency Furnace: *call 211

Food Pantry: *call 211

Rent Assistance: For questions regarding SDC's Milwaukee Emergency Rent Assistance (MERA) Program, please contact the MERA Support team at and we will respond upon reopening. The status of MERA applications can be viewed in the application portal anytime.
