Soaking rain with plenty of wind on the horizon to end the week

It's been a beautiful day so far in southeast Wisconsin with lots of sunshine and temps either side of 60! Unfortunately this great weather won't stick around beyond this afternoon. A strong area of low pressure is developing to our west and will lift a warm front into Illinois tonight. Scattered showers are likely along and north of the front this evening into tonight near the Wisconsin Illinois border.

Showers will generally the spotty and confined to areas along and south of I-94 through midday Thursday, but a more widespread push of rain moves in Thursday afternoon.

The heaviest, steadiest, and most widespread rain moves in on Friday as this low pressure system moves into Iowa. Friday will likely be the worst day of the week with steady rain and strong winds.

The low pressure system will track across northern Illinois and push east into Indiana by Saturday afternoon. Showers will continue for a good portion of Saturday as the system slowly pulls away.

A solid 2-3" of rain is expected from this system with the heaviest rain falling on Friday. Make sure gutters and storm drains are clear to help prevent flooding!

In addition to the rain, it's going to turn windy as well. We'll have a steady east wind at 15 mph most of Thursday, but it won't turn gusty until the evening. East to NE winds on Friday will be sustained around 20 mph with gusts between 30-40. Saturday will feature the strongest winds with gusts up to 45 mph at times.
