Snowmobiler dies in crash in northern Wisconsin

TOWN OF TOMAHAWK, WI (AP and CBS 58) -- In northern Wisconsin, authorities say a snowmobiler has died Saturday night when his machine crashed.   The Oneida County Sheriff's Office got a 911 call about the crash in the Town of Lake Tomahawk. Authorities say the snowmobile left the trail and struck some trees.

The driver of the snowmobile died at the scene. The name of the victim was not immediately released.

In southern Wisconsin, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a snowmobile accident in rural Racine County Saturday night.   According to the Sheriff’s Office, around 8:15 PM two snowmobiles were riding a  marked snowmobile trail near N Raynor Avenue in the Town of Norway when they hit a dip in the trail.   One of the riders lost control of his machine and crashed.   The Sheriff’s report says a 29-year-old Milwaukee County man may have broken his leg in the accident.   He was taken to the Ascension Hospital, Franklin campus for treatment of his injury.
