Snow and wind are factors in deadly Rubicon car crash

RUBICON, Wis. (CBS 58) --- A 40-year-old Neosho man is dead after a two vehicle crash near Jefferson Road in Rubicon Saturday, Dec. 12.

Dodge County Sheriff's Office say it happened around 12:30 p.m. on STH 60, three miles west of Hartford.

According to officials, a 40-year-old Neosho man was driving eastbound when he lost control and entered the westbound lane. The car was then struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Horicon man and occupied by his 11-year-old son.

The Neosho man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The other driver and his child were treated and released from the hospital.

Dodge County Sheriff's Office say the crash and death remain under investigation, but that road conditions, blowing snow, and wind were factors in the crash.

The state highway was closed for approximately two hours due to the investigation and complete road blockage.
