RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's a scary sight for people driving through Racine County Thursday, Nov. 13, but the fire that can be seen along I-94 near County Road K is actually a controlled burn.Ā
The Caledonia Fire Department sent out a statement Monday, Nov. 10, that they would be conducting a pre-planned live fire training at a vacant building that used to be the old South Hills Country Club in Franksville.Ā
The training started around 10 a.m. Thursday and ended around late afternoon.Ā
In the press release they stated they don't often get to conduct live fire trainings and the exercise will be of great educational value to their firefighters.
Smoke might linger in the area and people are asked to avoid the area for the time being.Ā
