(CBS 58) – A new product is using technology to help keep track of pets.
Pawscout is joining a growing list of Bluetooth pet tags. Pawscout users can download an app that creates a local community where owners can share alerts and updates with friends, family and other pet owners.
In the app, you can also see a live map of your pet. For extra security, owners can set a virtual leash which alerts you if your pet strays.
“People are still resorting to lost pet posters in their neighborhood, going door to door, knocking on doors, meeting in parks,” Pawscout CEO Andrea Chavez said. “That’s all fantastic but there’s so much happening digitally; we just wanted to enable that for pet owners too.”
Unlike some other smart dog tags, Pawscout does not use GPS. More information can be found on the Pawscout website.
