Small plane crashes in Village of Lannon

LANNON -- A small plane crashed near Good Hope Rd. and Town Line Road in the Village of Lannon. Two passengers on the plane survived the crash, but were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.


The plane took off from the Capitol Drive Airport in Brookfield around 11 a.m., then crashed at the Bugline Trail in the Village of Lennon.


Witnesses say they saw the plan was in distress before crashing in the wooded area of the trail.


The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department reports the pilot is a 79-year-old man from Pewaukee and the second passenger is a 46-year-old man from India.


The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash.
