Sherrod, Hayward practice Wednesday

GREEN BAY - Amid the ever-growing list of people missing Packers practice with injuries, two recovering players joined the Packers Wednesday.

Offensive lineman Derek Sherrod practiced for the first time since 2011. Wednesday's practice was not in pads, but Mike McCarthy is hoping to see Sherrod practice in pads soon. Sherrod is on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and was eligible to practice today for the first time.

Casey Hayward also practiced on Wednesday, taking another step closer to returning from his hamstring injury. Hayward has yet to play in a regular season game in 2013.

James Jones did not practice Wednesday, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy says he'll know more about Jones' status on Friday.
