Several injured after fire at apartment complex

Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments responded to a fire at an apartment complex near South 27th and Ramsey. The fire was reported Friday just before noon.

The fire caused significant damage to the building and the Red Cross is helping a total of 26 units.

Several people were injured due to smoke inhalation and being treated at the hospital.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

The American Red Cross has opened a shelter where displaced residents can sleep, eat and wait for information.
