Security Increasing for Saturday's Badgers Game

Fans planning to attend UW’s game vs. Northwestern on Saturday are reminded about a number of safety protocols that are in place. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 2:30 PM with the Senior Day activities starting at approximately 2:15 PM.

To maintain a fun and safe environment at Camp Randall Stadium, UW will have an increased police and security presence on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the normal security screens may take slightly longer due to the predicted weather forecast.

While the existing policy will be in place in regards to bags and carry-in items, fans are asked to consider leaving bags and other items at home for Saturday’s game. As has been the case all season at all Camp Randall Stadium, the UW Field House and the Kohl Center, the only bags that will be permitted are those that are 8.5” x 11” (or the size of a normal sheet of paper) or smaller. Any bag (purse, backpack, drawstring bag, etc.) bigger than 8.5” x 11” will not be allowed in the facility. All bags that are allowed into the facilities must be searched first.

Below is a list of permitted and prohibited items. You can also check out the Guest Services page on UWBadgers.com for the complete carry-in policies list, parking information, seating chart and more.

Items permitted: bags 8.5” x 11” or smaller, binoculars, cameras, blankets, jackets, items related to a medical condition, chairbacks (not more than 16” wide), and diaper bags (with child).

Items prohibited (including, but not limited to): bags larger than 8.5” x 11” (including backpacks), food, beverages, containers, strollers, laser pointers, umbrellas, banners, flags, signs, noisemakers, weapons, inflatables, laptops, video recorders or any items deemed dangerous or inappropriate.

All items and spectators are subject to search. Storage facilities are not available for checking prohibited items. Items left at gates will be disposed of accordingly.

Express gates are available at Camp Randall Stadium for those who do not bring carry-in items.

With four to seven inches of snow being forecast to fall in the Madison area between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, UW will implement a snow removal plan. That removal plan will be focused on clearing the field and creating a safe playing surface for the teams as well as clearing all walkways, ramps and entrances so that fans can safely move around the stadium. Due to the expected timing of the weather event, individual sections will most likely not be cleared of snow in time for the opening of gates. Fans are encouraged to dress warmly and be prepared for some snow to be in and around the stadium.
