MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee Public Schools teacher is facing three felony counts after students told police he touched them inappropriately in the school auditorium, according to a criminal complaint filed Sunday, Oct. 18 in Milwaukee County.

Prosecutors have charged 28-year-old Antonio Kitchens with two counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and one count of attempted sexual assault of a student by school staff.

The complaint says the incidents happened between October 2025 and Oct. 15, 2026 at Rufus King High School.

The school's principal, Doreen Badillo, reportedly told detectives that Kitchens has taught band and drumline there for three to four years.

The complaint says Badillo contacted a police officer on Thursday, Oct. 15 about sexual assaults of students. Three boys under 18 are cited in the complaint as telling police that Kitchens was alone with them in the auditorium, discussing grades or schoolwork, when he touched them inappropriately.

Badillo is also cited in the complaint as telling detectives a student first told the orchestra teacher, and that teachers are trained not to be alone with students behind closed doors, touch them or text them outside approved channels, noting that it was reported that Kitchens was texting students.

One student told a detective it began in October 2025 and happened again early October 2026, the complaint states, where another student also told a detective it happened in June 2026 and again earlier in October.

A third student is noted as having told a detective that in May 2026, Kitchens tried to touch him before the student walked out of the auditorium.

Investigators noted that they had leads on two additional possible victims at the time the complaint was signed.

The charges are allegations, and Kitchens has not been convicted.
