MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A bar in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood closed due to COVID-19 is looking to help the community.
Riverwest Public House Cooperative is opening a make-shift food pantry outside of its building. The cooperative has several different foods available including dairy products, bread and potatoes. Everything is free.
Right now, the food pantry is scheduled to be open on Sundays and Mondays.
“The point of the co-op is to be part of the community and this is what the community needs right now," said Michael Rebers with Riverwest Public House Cooperative. "There are a lot of other food pantries around here that are doing it on Wednesdays and Saturdays and that’s fantastic. We’re just trying to carve out a place that we can do whatever we can do."
The food pantry will be open from noon-6 p.m. Anyone who wants to donate food is asked to contact Riverwest Public House on Facebook.
