MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Fifteen small Milwaukee businesses are competing for a chance at cash and support from Near West Side Partners (NWSP).
Business owners set up booths in the race for the eighth annual Rev-Up MKE Competition.
This year, instead of business owners taking to the stage to show community members why they should win, each business set up a booth so people could talk one-on-one with the entrepreneurs.
The executive director of Near West Side Partners says there's a diverse set of finalists.
"We have everything from food-based businesses to tech businesses, to novelty hats, to hair care and retail products," said Lindsey St. Arnold Bell, NWSP executive director.
The winner of Rev-Up gets $5,000 to invest in their business, coaching, social media and marketing support and will get to set up a pop-up shop in the Concordia 27 storefront at 27th and Wells.
