Residents return to apartments after roof damage

FRANKLIN - All residents are back in their units after some gutters and soffits came crashing down to the ground at an apartment complex Friday. It happened at a building in the Stonefield Village Apartments. Officials believe the weight of ice in the gutters forced the gutters and soffits to break away. People living in 8 apartments in the building where it happened were evacuated. The Red Cross found places for them to stay on Friday night. The Building Inspector determined there was no structural or water damage to the building and it was safe for residents to return. The damage to the building is expected to be repaired within a week. No one was hurt.
